From Pixels to Plastic: A Commission in Progress

This video shows the journey of three specific pieces for the project—from the "beading" stage (where I’m hand-placing every single pixel) to the "ironing" stage (where the magic—and the stress—happens).
The "Melt" is Everything
People often ask how the beads stay together, and the answer is: a very steady hand and a lot of patience with an iron. You have to get the heat just right so the beads fuse into a solid, durable piece without losing the "pixel" look or warping the boards. It’s a balancing act, but seeing them go from loose beads to a finished, fused character is incredibly satisfying.
What’s Next?
These three pieces are eventually going to be mounted onto a custom-painted canvas. I’m still fine-tuning the background to make sure the colors pop, but for now, the "stars of the show" are officially fused and ready for their new home.
Stay tuned to see the final result once the paint is dry!
